Hello May!

It's been a while since my return to Mongolia and it's taken some time to adjust to our renewed life here. A roundup of April's events is in order I think.

For my birthday this year I got a lovely surprise from my little brother as he remembered a certain photographer that I was obsessed with in my pre-baby and pre-employment days, when time was ample and life was pretty black and white. I got Chema Madoz's 2001 edition of his prints book OBJETOS 1990-1999, and what a joy it's been to leaf through the thick pages of the black and white photographs and remember my student days.

Madoz is a Spanish creative photographer who produces mainly black and white prints of beautiful paradoxes we find in our lives. From the very simple and straightforward to the pure genius of what we fail to see everyday. I love his work mostly because it's so unexpected but once you see the photograph, there's the satisaction of knowing that at least you have your own version of its meaning.

On a more colourful topic, my baby turned seven months! He's gotten so much more active, funnier, demanding and that much more interesting as the days go by. I've finessed the fine art of ninja like moves when he's asleep, developed a trusted reportiore of nursery rhymes for the purpose of distraction during nose cleaning/car journeys/potty training, learnt the juggling act of turning myself into a clown whilst preparing feeds/cooking dinner/picking up toys. Basically it's been a riot staying at home with a fast groing baby, however, I'm looking forward to the time when he takes naps longer than 30 minutes. In the meantime, my current interests span across home cooking and mashing baby food to looking for full and fuzz-free clips of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse episodes on YouTube.

I think Arvis' blogs will be more informative when it comes to documenting what we get upto during the day. And although it seems unimportant to tweet about being a stay-at-home mum because there's no politics involved, I will strive to make it as intersting as possible, because I now realise that there IS a huge number of people staying at home and yet still having a time of their lives.
